Responsiblity

Darlings, it is time to take a serious look at a worrying trend going on in Second Life this last month. Recently, a blogger who claims not to be on the feed, made a blog that in itself was not accusatory. However, in the subsequent comments the blogger accused several hair shops of copying the styles from ETD. One of the designers fought back today and we at Go Fug YourSL support his position fully.

Accusing designers of theft is a very serious issue that can have a lasting effect on their business and their livelihood. The accuser should take the time to investigate in totality the basis of their accusations before running off at the fingers.

This brings me to my next example of this frightening trend for designers. A new designer, about to dabble in hair, sent out a group notice that an established hair designer copied her style before she could release it based on a preview. A quick question to the accused designer would have solved this instantly. When did you make this style? Sweeties, I went to the Second Style archives and found a blog showing the style on July 18,2007. Clearly, the accused must have psychic abilities to copy a style 7 months earlier. I know, Darlings, not everyone would think to use a blog archive so I doubled my efforts and did a search at Yahoo and come up with a blog from Shopping Cart Disco on July 9,2007. If the new designer had taken a fraction of a minute to do research before sending out her notice she would have realized her error. Sweeties, the horror of this situation is this notice will be in the group notices for 30 days making this wrongful accusation 30 days too long.

We support Aden Breyer, Truth Hawks and any other designers wrongly accused.

The Fug of this blog: All of those individuals who run off at their fingers and wrongly accuse people of theft.

Old School Fuddy Duddy

Darlings. please, just because we do not log in much anymore does not mean we are not following the RSS. Recent annoyances have come up. Sweeties, what is with the love-fest for all the old school designers. I understand that they revolutionized the market but they are behind the times. There is a vast, new market out there to choose from. Fashionistas, move beyond the old and open your eyes to what life has to offer.

Yes, sweeties, I do have a fug this time around. The Fug is all of those avatars that only buy from one designers. They tell everyone around them that they only buy from that designer and no other. This is a nice sentiment but aren't you a boring bird, such a staid old fuddy duddy that the world is simply passing you by.

Long Time

Sweeties, Bianca and I have been swamped with our real life obligations and have barely had time for Second Life. Disappointing, I assure you. However with the Holidays fast approaching us, I am sure we will find some time for some of those fuglier holiday gifts. If you would like some amusement regarding bad SL fashion, I suggest taking a look at the SL Fashion Police. Miss TheDiva knows how to dish, Darlings.

Green with Nausea

Sweeties, I know it has been a while but Bianca and I have been completely swamped with our social schedules to keep our readers up to date on the fashion crimes of Second Life. It has been such a busy time for the fashion world with both the Hair Fair and Clothing Fair occurring almost back to back. With all those goodies who could really think about Fug. The Hair Fair directed me to the new hair sim that has a room of freebies that you can buy for one linden. This is where Fug found its way into the beauty of those lovely events.

Let me ask you, Sweeties, do I look amused? No, Mummy is not in the least bit amused. This bright green undershirt came in several other, equally as hideous colors. the entire ensemble looks as if someone could not chose what look they were going for. We have a lovely prim skirt with a retro texture but the rest of the outfit is rubbish. Darlings, why does anyone need a polka-dot skirt, green, undershirt, striped corset, and black bra in one go?

I know what you are all thinking: Elle, why do you not just wear the items separately with your fab collection of couture goodies? Sweeties, these pieces are not very well made with one mismatched seam after another.

Finding the perfect hair to pair with this eyesore turned out to be quite an easy task. Darlings, I won this lovely hair from a lucky chair and discovered that it had an odd phantom-effect. If you will notice, I am standing in the middle of the gazebo but you can see the trellis and the outline of my head through the hair(pictured left). While taking the photo, it occurred to me that I had seen this style before. Sweeties, I was given a box of full perm hair from one designer and there is a style that almost matches this one(pictured right).

Sweeties, one last note before I get ready for Second Convention Summer Fashion Show: The skin used for this Fug is from a fairly expensive skin designer running over L$1000 a skin. I am highly concerned about the ears because the look of them is as if someone took a dagger and gashed open a hole.
