To continue the theme...

I simply can't help myself, darlings. When I saw what dear Elle posted, I had to play with this skin for myself. I must say, it certainly is a unique look! Feast your eyes upon my loveliness:

So what do you think? Do I have a long, lucrative career ahead of me as a fashion model?

Ugly Little Flickr Update

There is an update to the story from the other day, Ugly Little Flikr.

It would appear that something has happened to our favorite Flickr group.

You see, darlings, when you violate someone's copyright and steal their intellectual property it will catch up to you. Next time people really need to read the rules at the U.S Copyright Office a little closer before declaring their actions legal.

The most important fact from all of this to learn is:
"Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device. " (Information found here)

This also applies to those who steal skins and other textures in Second Life. The minute the designer has created that image the own they copyright to it regardless if it is registered with the Copyright Office or not. So people like the crass individual that stole from Mina Jun are in violation regardless of how many times they protest.

Curse of the Wererabbit

On a crisp Autumn day, Second Life was invaded by Wererabbits. Are Fashionistas everywhere flocking to be part of the incisor crowd? A particular designer who is well respected came out a skin line that reminded me of poor Wallace when he and a rabbit had their brains scrambled together. Sweeties, I am taking about the new revolutionary rabbit skins. No, I do not mean the skins that are supposed to look like rabbit skins but rather skins that should not.

I am reminded of a childhood friend who upon getting her braces would pulled her lips back off her teeth because the wires were scraping the inside of her lip. Is there a need for such a skin? I hear there is big money to be had in the dental role playing industry. Other than that, this skin's pseudo-sultry pout would do much better without the teeth. Luckily the skins do come with a "closed" mouth version. As you will see for yourself, the skin is beautiful when you remove the teeth. So get your pliers ready so you are all set to reenact The Marathon Man.

Side note to those I was referring to a few blogs back: This is the proper way to mock things we find amusing in Second Life. Notice the use of my own pictures.

False Accusations Fly Once More

Once again the False Accusations are flying out the mouth of a rival designer. Vanilla Sola from Black Moon flat out accusing Lemania Indigo of Lemania Indigo Designs of stealing from her.

Let us examine the evidence. Ms. Sola claims that the outfits shown here and here have been stolen. She believes with all her heart and with great passion that Ms. Indigo's dress shown here is a rip off of her outfits. Of course, we all see how a black and white pantsuit made from wallpaper is clearly the same as a gown made from newspaper. I don't think so, Sweetie. Perhaps it is time to check the prescription on those bifocals because clearly you are not seeing what the rest of the world is seeing.

Oh, hold on a minute my darlings, she is claiming that she owns the rights to the concept of clothing made from paper. Well, that is rather funny considering that paper fashion existed well before those fabulous Lindens released a universe known as Second Life.

Let me show you my favorite examples of real world paper clothing:
Lena Mary has a beautiful paper couture dress that you can view on her website located here.
EarthPledge held a FutureFashion Show last January which included this beautiful dress.
A Dress A Day Blog is a great resource for the unique. There are several newspaper dresses featured here and here.
